Not good…

Dear Everyone:
Wow, what a week. Monday I had my B12 shot, which is supposed to give you
energy. Well, it has not kicked in yet. I have been vomiting everything for
over a week. It seems my stoma is closed, or strictured. So I went to see
my surgeon yesterday. I am doing well…otherwise. Its been 7 weeks. I
have lost 59 pounds. Unortunately they could not set up my dialation until
Dec. 14th!!!!!!! That means another week and a half without anything to eat.
I feel like Im going NUTS. This morning even WATER came back up. I am so
glad I have lost weight….but this vomiting is horrible. Im sorry for the
whining……I just needed to vent.
Love,

    Oh MY!
This is not acceptable. If you are throwing back up even water that means
you are going to get dehydrated very quickly and very ill. You need to make
a lot of noise about this and make them move up the date. I don’t care who
you have to complain to but do it. You don’t want to end up in the hospital
which sounds like that is what will happen if you can’t even keep water down
so do not accept the December 14th date with out a lot of complaining and
threats to sue if needed. Sounds like you have to be your own best advocate.
    Let us know what happens.

    Hey Jennie:
I in my venting forgot to mention that at 7 weeks out I still have my Feeding
tube. I am still able to give myself water…and today i gave my self 4
ounces of pure protien. I feel tired, maybe even a bit woozy…but there
should be no chance of dehydration… right?

Hi there. I would phone back your surgeon and insist that something be done
immediately. There is no way it is healthy for you to continue until they
can fit you in. I ended up at Emergency not long ago because of vomiting for
2 days straight and was admitted and had an NG tube put in. After a stay
through the weekend, I was fine. Be sure not to take no for an answer!!

    Hi August
Find out from your doctor how much fluids you should be getting through the
tube…..you could still become dehydrated if you are not replenishing
yourself enough….also…..I deleted the post before I read the entire
thing….but if you are vomiting, you also need to know where you are at
with potassium…..if you are weak and in a run down condition, fluids and
potassium could be the culprit…..you should get to the doc sooner, I would
say, than later……good luck to you…please get your potassium level
    checked…..you can’t get too low on that….
    take care
