So far have lost 106 of 120-130 extra pounds
1. What do you typically eat in a day? Maybe give
foods and amounts. I in no way want to critic what
you eat. I am just interested in what your “eating
life” is like. I have also heard that sometimes
people are driven to eat sugary or crunchy (chips and
such) things when they have a mostly restrictive
procedure and wondered if you experienced this. I
have heard this is not necessarily a non compliance
thing, but a matter of body survival as that is what
works.
****Well, here’s yesterday:

Breakfast: 1/2 a protein shake (about 6 oz.)
Lunch: cup of beef stew
Dinner: About 3 oz. salmon, with a couple of bites of
veggies and even a little wild rice (that’s unusual
for me, but I do usually have a little bread or
potato)
Snack: Two gourmet chocolates–again, I don’t usually
do this, but sometimes I do. :) A more typical snack
would be 1/4-1/2 of a mini bagel with a little peanut
butter or a cup or two of light popcorn.
2. What was your pouch size at the time of surgery?
***I’m a little embarassed that I’m totally blanking
on this! I know it was about the size of a small
fist.
3. Have you maintained all that you lost?
***Doesn’t apply to me yet. I’ve had no regain, but
I’m only eight months out.
4. Have you had any complications such as stoma
closures or ulcers?
***No complications. I also don’t dump and have never
thrown up just because of the food I ate. (This
includes those first few months back on real food,
since my doc has us on puree for 3 months!) My
vitamin levels are also all good.
