Butt kicking needed/Tammie

I have to disagree with Tammie’s post about having chocolate every day and
soda is ok. The whole point of this surgery is not to be perfect but to
regain health and in order to do that we must follow our doctors orders and
try and do our best to work the tool which means avoiding or limiting certain
foods. Chocolate is does not have any nutritional value and is loaded
w/calories and soda has carbonation which is not good for our tummy. Yes,
Sandra is doing great and def. should be commended for her excellent weight
loss, but if her old habits are coming back she needs to deal w/that now
becuz it’s very possible to gain the wieght back. I’ve been there so i know
how easy it is to go back to eating junk. The first few months referred to as
“honeymoon period” are so that we learn new habits that will enable us to
keep the wieght off later on. I’m 9 months out and can eat everything in much
larger amounts so if I slack off now i will never reach my goals. However, i
do believe in moderation becuz this is a lifestyle change not a diet.
Allowing a hershey kiss once in awhile can be ok if your body can handle

sugar but not every day.
I’ve done my research and know for a fact that the most successful post-ops
are the ones who exercised and ate nutritious well balanced meals. See this
surgery is a chance for us to finally get right w/food so why ruin it by
giving into cravings? We’re all going to have those bad days but that’s
expected we’re human but it’s the whole picture what you do afterwards that
matters the most. Eating chocolate everyday is not giving it 100%. This was a
last resort for me and i went through hell w/many complications so there is
no way i’m letting old habits get in the way of my chance at better health.
Thanks for letting me express my feelings… Hope you don’t take offense to
any of this they are only my opinions. Good luck to you in all your efforts.
This surgery is truly life saving and I thank God everyday for the strength
to keep going. Happy Holidays to all :-) Hugs, Maja from NJ
