Hello Everyone–New Member

Greetings Everyone. For the second time in my life I am considering
wls. I joined your list to hear from those who know the real deal;
who can answer questions that doctors never consider or for those a
doctor wouldn’t have a legitimate answer. I am a 39 yr old Black
female who weighs approx 200 more than what standard weight charts
say is the ideal for a woman who is 5′8″ tall. I have searched
for “personal experience” websites for information about post-surgery
experiences. There are many out there but none that seem to give the
info I specifically seek: like what I can and can’t eat, how much
dieting and exercise is required post surgery, how to cope with
relatively rapid weight loss (the emotional and the physical–sagging
skin and the like)and what reasonable health improvements to expect.
I don’t know, guess I’m just full of questions. I’m sure this is
typical. Don’t expect you all to answer them for me. I more expect
to get “the gist” as I read current and past posts. I do want to

thank you for maintaining this community and for any information and
suggestions that I may receive over time. I hope that everyone is
well and enjoying/looking forward to quality time with loved ones.
Peace.

    Well first things first, welcome.
I had my rny not quite 6 months ago. I have no trouble eating
anything i want, except sugars, I have to be extremely careful with
sugar, anything over 4grams per serving and I feel like i am going to
die. I am very pleased regarding the sugar issue, from what I
understand only about 20% of people dump ( get sick) from sugar and I
prayed to the Lord that I would be one of the 20% and I am. Sugar
was a big downfall for me pre-surgery.Like I said though, I can eat
everything else, in miniscual amounts, but can eat it none the less.
I have a protein shake daily (42 grams) just to be certain I am
    getting enough protein.
As far as exercise, I have not been faithful, mainly because I was/am
so very tired all the time. My Pcp found out that I was/am having
low iron and low B-12. I have been put on supplements and am feeling
alot better. I do park further away when going out, get my own

things as opposed to having my children do it ( they appreciate
that), and found myself running Saturday at my 12 yr olds basketball
    game. That was fun.
If you have any other questions that I can be of help with please e-
mail me and I will be happy to help. I by the way “was” 206 pounds
over my goal weight, and have lost 80 to date, this surgery saved my
    life, both figuratively and realistically.
    Have a wonderful holiday ,
