<description>No energy two weeks out is normal. You just had major surgery. Your body
needs time to heal. Walk as much as you can, rest when you need to, and try
to be patient. By four weeks out I had much more energy.

<description>I'm 23 days post op from an open RNY. My energy plummets
after some exertion still, too. And having my children
home for almost two weeks for the holiday has been
simply exhausting. They go back today, so I'm hoping
that helps. It has slowly been getting better. I am
religiously taking my vitamins, making sure that I get
as big a protein punch as I can for what I'm eating and
resting when I can. But I have to remind myself at
times, that I did very recently have a very major
surgery. I keep hearing six weeks is the magic time for
many postops when their energy takes a big jump. So, Im
going to try to be patient with myself and give myself
some more time to recouperate. The biggest worry I have
with the low energy level besides crankiness, is that,
combined with the cold, its been very difficult to get
 &lt;!--more--&gt;
myself to walk much. I try to get out at least once a
day, but after about 8 blocks, I have to head back to
the couch. I'm expecting this too will improve soon. I
think what you are experiencing is very normal. Its the
body's way of demanding the rest it needs to heal. I
feel better this week than I did last week and I'm sure
you will soon feel more energetic, as well. Congrats and
 good luck.
