I’m up to the “Challenge”
Denise,
Your post really got me thinking about ways that I could improve my
health. I do excercise several times a week, although I’m not real
disciplined about when or how. Today I was on the treadmill doing my
1-1 1/2 mile. I started jogging/walking/jogging. It felt so good to
get really sweaty and a little uncomfortable. I realized that even
though I excercise regularly, I don’t push myself to increase my
routine as I should. So for now, my challenge to myself is to lift
weights 5 x per week, and use the treadmill at least 3 x per week.
Each time I will work until I feel I have actually asked enough of
myself.
Thanks- I needed that!

Lisa, Weight lifting should be 3 x per week, or everyother day.
This gives the muscles a day off.

Lisa,
I just want you to know that it is fine to lift weights 5x a week. Just
make sure you are doing upper body 1 day and lower body the next. I do my
cardio for 30 minutes and then move on to weight lifting. By alternating
muscles groups, I have something different to do each day and I don’t get
board. I also alternate my cardio, stair machine then recombinant bike, et.
This seems to work good for me and because I break up my upper and lower
body, my workouts don’t take as long.
I hope this helps and good luck.
