Need Help With Vomiting

Hi OOSG,
I am 14 weeks out and I have lost 60 pounds but I’m having a problem with
vomiting. I’m currently having these vomiting episodes about once a week and
I’m sure they are reeking havoc on my body. My last episode started last
night about 7:00 and I woke up this morning at 5:00 to the same thing.
When this first started early December, I related it to chicken and eating
too fast. I have since gone from eating chicken 5 times a week to eating no
chicken at all. I am also trying to watch the clock when I eat. The weird
thing about this last one is that every thing that I ate yesterday came up
and some turkey chili that I ate the night before. Why would food still be in
my pouch for over 24 hours? The other weird thing is I don’t feel bad or sick
and I don’t think that I am dumping but maybe I am.
Question: why is this happening and what is happening to the medications that
I take? How long do the meds need to stay down before they are absorbed? I’m
taking Prozac, Wellbrutrin, Multivitamins & B-12 by injection weekly.

    Regina,
The only thing I can think of is that maybe you aren’t chewing your food to
almost a pureed state. Food might be stopping up your stoma and trapping the
food in the pouch if you don’t chew it good enough. I have had to throw up
several times during the last 6 months because I either ate to much or I
didn’t chew good enough and food couldn’t go down. Once I threw up and
removed what was blocking the stoma… then I was ok and felt relief. If you
get to were everything is coming back up then I would talk to your doctor. If
you are just doing this once and a while it could be the chewing and over
eating. One of the ways I know I have over eaten is that my mouth starts to
salivate and I have to spit it out cause I can’t seem to swallow it. I hope
this helps. If this isn’t it… I am sure others will have some really good
input for you. Take care of yourself.
