cravings………
Hi everyone,
I am just about 7 weeks out (as of Monday) and feeling great and I have
found so far that nothing seems to bother me food wise, i don’t dump, i had a
teeney tiny peice of birthday cake on my mom’s 50th b-day and nothing happened,
i was so hoping it wouldbut at least now i know this is something i will always
i have to work hard at, which is fine with me. But latley i have had some
cravings i can’t seem to shake…..and the cravings aren’t even junk food but
more of lets say high calorie food ……like chienese food not the fired stuff
but i am dying for beef& mushroom cy yok……and what i wouldn’t do for some
chicken teryki……..sorry everyone
i was just wondering how you all deal with your cravings? Is it Ok to have a
very small portion? or are these foods taboo? I just hate to think that i have
to deprive myself.
also one more question…has or does anyone use whole food such as cheese
or mayo or dessings but only in moderation? I have a hard time with some of
the Fat Free foods and on occasion i have use whole things instead (EX: i’ll
use a 1/2 piece of reg cheese instead of a whole peice of reduced fat cheese)
just wanted some input on what others may do..
Thanks for letting me ramble

Billie Jean,
I can only answer for myself. But I eat Chinese when I want it and I eat
Teryaki Chicken, Cashew Chicken, Garlic Chicken, or whatever I’m in the mood
for. I eat cheese, sour cream, butter, mayonaise, etc. I don’t eat large
amounts and most of the time things like mayonaise and sour cream don’t even
sound good to me. But I guess I’m trying to say, I refuse to “diet”. That
mentality and deprivation makes me shudder. I guess I did it for too long
and it was soooo unsuccessful. I eat as healthy as I can whenever I can and
I stay away from anything with more than 6-8 grams of sugar in it. I can’t
do much dairy because it causes gas, cramping, and diarrhea, but if I’m
hungry for dairy I eat it. I drink lactaid though or soy milk instead of
real milk. Other than those restrictions, I listen to my body. I’m only a
little over six months out, so things may change, but that’s my plan for now.
