		<description>Shelly,
What I would tell you to do is go through with your surgery -- especially
since the company is honoring your leave that means they also must pay for
medical costs incurred under insurance while on leave. So definitely have
surgery. Then smile prettily, say goodbye and get yourself to a lawyer.
Don't worry about going back to this company because in a year or so they
will realize that they were idiots. Until then take what you can -- namely a
chance at health so these issues don't arrive at other jobs -- and go from
there. A company CAN NOT penalize you for taking advantage of FMLA so that
is grounds I would think to fight them. You need legal advice from someone
who deals with employment discimination -- Walter could probably help you.
www.obesitylaw.com Or someone in your area. Count your blessings, take it
one step at a time and do what is right for you!
