Solid foods a problem
I am 3 months post op from having a VBG (vertical banded)surgery
and am not able to eat solid food yet no matter how much I chew chew
chew. Seems like I swallow and the food feels stuck before it even
gets to my pouch. I had an upper Gi done which looked fine. Doctor
said to keep trying for 3 more months then he would do scope and
probably will find the opening is to small(the outlet in my pouch)
and he may have to stretch it. Well if this happens he says people
tend to eat more then. Has anyone else had this problem? or the
stretching proceedure done? Id like to hear what you think.

My mother had a partial gastrectomy because of stomach cancer and her stoma

If that is the problem, it is easily corrected. Good luck

Hi,
I’m 6 mos post-op, I too can not eat heavy foods,
breads, pasta and the disappointment is “my meat” I
can’t always eat it, accually most of the time I can’t.
I usually don’t get my full meals in everyday and I
and up relying on my Mega Whey Protein drinks.
I too hope that this will change.
Just wanted to let you know that you are not the
only one with this problem.
