FINDING A SCALE TO WEIGH

Hi everyone,
Well since I have had my seminar date, I am that much closer to having my
surgery. We are just waiting for Insurance approval. I know they will
approve because I have already spoke with them and they are just awaiting
the letter. I would like to weigh and see how much I do weigh but I cannot
find a scale! I know I am approx 500 because when my 9 yr old was born I
was 416 and dropped to 398. My clothes patterns have not changed much
since then (I make my own clothes, naturally). So I estimate that I am
around 500, but I am having trouble finding a place to weigh. Believe it
or not, I even tried the scale and Jenny Craig and they only go up to 440,
unbelievable and they are a weight loss center, for who? Lol. Any
suggestions?

    Jennie,
Thank you so much for your answer. I was really getting kind of worried
there for a second. To go to the post office or the feed mill to weigh,
makes me sound like a pig or something. I will check with Baylor Medical
and see if they will let me weigh or maybe just wait until my appointment.
I did try my local hospital but it only goes up to 350. This is just
another point that the world does not recognize that people are overweight.
It is like if you can’t fit on the scale you don’t exist. Is it no wonder
so many overweight people doom themselves into staying in the house and not
facing the public? It makes me just want to go up high on the mountain and
scream “WAKE UP PEOPLE”, why can’t everyone just see us as people too!

DeDe, you could try www.amplestuff.com and see if they have scales.
I’ve checked their site, and it is under construction, but they have
lots of stuff for big people. Like seat belt extenders, large sized
    fanny packs, etc. Best wishes…

    Hi everyone,
My primary doc says I don’t need WLS, but for 10 years now my ob/gyn has said
that I do. My ob/gyn retired last year so now my doc will not give me a
referral. (not that I need one for insurance purposes, but I have no clue where
to find a doc that does the WLS surgery Rochester or Syracuse NY) Any keywords
that I could look for while searching yellow pages? I am a tiny lady in a huge
body… and I really want to find out as much information as possible. I am sooo
desperate, but I know that I am not alone in this quest. I appreciate this site.
