I had an open RNY Proximal on July 3, 2001 (with 3 hernia repairs.)
St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center in Toledo, Ohio. Dr. Richard’s is
my surgeon.
I have lost approx 110 lbs. and I feel absolutely wonderful. I have
recently pulled a “new” hernia and I have not even contacted my
surgeon yet to let him know. I had my prior hernia’s for about 5
years before to surgery and I am not having any problems with this
newest one except that it is annoying and I am disappointed to have
pulled another one. I have only been without hernia’s for 8
months. Oh well.. this is a small problem compared to the weight
loss.
I am wondering how other 8 month post ops are doing and feeling

As for me Well my appetite has come back it took about 7 months
but still I feel I have control over the quantities that I eat. I
believe that my hair loss is slowing down. That is good. At my
last visit in December my blood work was pretty good. I only use B-
12 nasal spray once a week in each nostril. I am off all blood
pressure medication.. I take Viactiv for calcium (1) three times a
day and I take a one a day essential multi vitamin. I can eat
anything I want and only have very very slight “dumping” with
sweets. Actually hardly worth metnioning. I rarely eat sweets so
that is not a problem.
anyway would love to hear form those of you who are 8 months OR
MORE out. Wondering how you are doing and If you have any advice
