gassy question & update
John,
I can tell you what my hubby had experienced… He’s almost nine months out
and he has just started to be able to burp. I’ve been able to from day one.
So I think it must be an individual thing. Hopefully, you’ll be able to
soon, also…so hang in there. In the meanwhile, it seemed to help him to
eat very slowly and take very small bites….even smaller and slower than me.
He had surgery 5/21/01. Good luck!

done extremely well . I started at 417# and now weigh

about the whole situation.my one problem is that I
have a large amount of gas that builds up, and I have
to try and force my self to burp. when I cant expel
the gas orally I feel like im going to have a stroke.
I have been to my heart doctor who said I check out
fine .my surgeon also cant find anything wrong with me
I was wondering if anyone had any simular problems and
could make any suggestions. any help would be greatly
appreciated

Have you thought at all about trying a chewable anti-gas tablets or a
liquid version of the same? Talk to your doctor about trying something
over the counter. You would likely want something that has
alpha-galactosidase. This is an enzyme that helps prevent gas, not just
make it go away after you’re already bloated and uncomfortable. If that
doesn’t work, try something with Simethicone in it. This will eliminate
gas that’s already formed, and hopefully keep it from building up too
much.
Good luck!
