Subject: Losing slowly and depressed
Hey Mary Pat~
It’s because you are at the relatively low end of the BMI scale. I’ve lost
26 pounds in 5 weeks and I started at 285 and 5′3″. My doc assures me it’s
normal and that the slower we lose, the easier it is for our skin to keep
shrinking up. Keep exercising and it will drop again soon!

Subject: Losing slowly and depressed
Hi everyone,
I have been lurking on this site for several months, and have really gotten
alot of very valuable info from everyone…Thanks!
I have a question….I had my lap rny on Jan 25, so I am just a little over
three weeks post op, and I am really depressed! I have only lost 16 pounds,
and was wondering it that’s normal? I started out at 264 and I’m 5′5″. I
was losing steadily the first two weeks, and this week I have only lost one
pound. I am a worry wart by nature too, so I of course think there is
something wrong with me, or the surgery didn’t work for me. I have also been
nauseous alot this week. I have not strayed from my dr.’s orders at all, but
I am finding it so hard to stick with it, when I am not seeing the results it
seems that most others have.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I just want to know that I am
not alone!
Thanks,
Mary Pat
