Gail,
When I was first out from surgery I almost had to explain because my eating
habits where so different from others… but now I can eat pretty much
anything I want and I don’t talk about it right off the bat anymore. When it
comes up in a natural conversation…then I will tell people. That goes for
dates and just the average person I meet.

I have been reading lots of posts lately about people NOT telling. This
is what my mom did. I don’t know( till this day) why. But anywho. I was
so happy to get approved so fast that I told EVERYbody in the beginning. So
I guess it makes it easier to tell potential dates. I guess mine is a
slightly different situation. Especially when the guy would wonder why I
was full so fast and was SO big. I found that it would come up in general
conversation either with him or in front of him. People are so free with
there advice for people who are overweight :{. Things like…”I don’t know
if you have tried it, but I have heard of this new diet. And my personal
favorite…” I will go exercise with you if you need someone to keep you on
track”. This is when I took pleasure in informing them that I had already
spent over $10k to NEVER have to diet again.
Now that I am back on track…I am constantly hearing…”I wish I could take
it off as fast as you are.” Good or bad…THESE are the people I just smile
at…
