 I also have this 'foot' problem. I did some research and also discussed this
 with my surgeon at my six-month visit. Although it could be low potassium,
 which can cause muscle cramps, the most likely culprit is gout of psuedo-gout
 which is the result of uric acid. Generally, people who get this are those that
 eat rich foods (lots of fat) and/or drink alcoholic beverages and I was
 surprised that this could be the cause. Afterall, that's certainly not what I'm
 doing. It can also be caused by excess fat in your system from losing so
 quickly, which explains the problem. Doctors orders were to drink more fluids
 to flush the body fat from my system. If you aren't taking in enough fluids,

 the mornings.

I am not sure about cramps in the foot,but...I do know my internist told me
that if you get cramps in your calves it can be do to a need for potassium. Did
you just recently start with the treadmill? If you did, that can be it too.

experienced something similar about 3 years ago when I
first started working out with a personal trainer. He
advised me to increase my potassium, which I did, and
the cramps went away. Haven't had them since WLS
surgery a little over six months ago. Hope this
helps.
