Sex drive?
I am wondering if any of you post ops have had an increase in your sex drive
since losing some weight? I am 296# right now and miserable. I hate my body
and i have NO sex drive at all. I am a married women so this is a problem in
my marriage right now. My husbnad is really great about it but i can tell he
is also very frustrated. I am just wondering if after surgery you had more
sex drive? Im not sure that it is totally my size that is causing this but
it could me. Any feedback is greatly appreciated.
Thank you
Shelby

shelby, what i do know is that when you feel crappy everyones’ sex drive is
low. when you feel better physically and better about yourself it tends to
rise. also every fat cell has estrogen in it and when you dump the fat you
dump the hormones. that is part of the reason to be real careful about birth
control after surgery.
lol, in my case a few too many hormones, at 100+ lbs down i feel as wild as
a 17 yr old and as a 52 yr old that is really something.i am getting just as
silly as the h.s. kids i teach.
hope it helps. i think being at a healthier weight improves many things
that we may have not related to our being m.o.

Hi Shelby,
I had WLS Oct 2001 and about December my sex drive was in overdrive. I felt
almost like a man, like I had to have it. But now 6 months out and with some
good antidepressant my sex drive is normal again. Therefore, your sex drive
will come back.

Oh my goodness, yes, Shelby!!! My husband thinks I’ve turned into a sexual
dynamo. Of course he and I both had wls and he and I both have experienced
major changes in our sex drives. We are having soooo much fun together in
the bedroom and out. This has been the best thing that could ever happen to
our marriage. I was in the same spot you were. I hated my body and felt
like a beached whale when we were making love. I never wanted him to touch
me. And he never made me feel that way it was in my own head. He always
told me how beautiful I was and how sexy I looked. But in my mind I was
sickening. And I was always tired too…. that never helps either. So tell
your hubby to give you a couple months after surgery and then look out!!!
Best of luck to you!
