Obesity Surgery WP Blog

I found this site a week or so ago… and I can tell you that it has
been enlightening reading all that has been thru here since…
I am scheduled for pre-op testing on Thurs May 8th….. but it has
been months since my first appt with my Dr..
I am here in Syracuse area… and my surgeon is Dr Halverson…
Anyone here know him?
From the people I have talked with that do know him… he is very
good.. and very strict.
In fact he would not even consider doing surgery on me until I got
the eating routine down…. And his way of doing it is chewing every
bite 25 times and waiting 5 minutes in between each bite.
This took a long time to do - for I am a big eater… and eating a
full meal at this rate takes over 2 hours.<Grin
I also have the date to talk with the surgeon regarding the testing
on May 28th. So I am assuming that - if all the tests go alright -

then surgery may not be too far off.
I am glad I found this group - cause I need all the support I can
get… I am thankful now for the support of my fiance’ and my parents.
By the way - I am 44 yrs old. widowed x2 … engaged to be married
again on August 17th of this year.
I have always been huge - weighing 220lbs when graduated high school.
Now - after many diets - I am at my top weight of 422.
So I also have been there too.
