Doctor experiences
I was wondering if anyone has had prior experience with Dr. Louis Flancbaum of
the St. Luke’s Roosevelt hospital bariatric center or his team in NYC, NY. I’ve
already had an initial consultation with him and was very impressed with his
knowledge (he’s the author of The Doctor’s Guide to Weight Loss Surgery: How to
Make the Decision that Could Save Your Life) and his experience (about 1000
operations). While my instinct tells me he’s a terrific surgeon and what I’ve
read about him from other people say he’s top-notch, I thought I’d just ask the
group for a “2nd opinion” before making up my mind 100% to go ahead.
Thanks.

Ted,
Dr. Flancbaum was my surgeon. I am actually a chapter in the book he
wrote — I told my story about how I got pregnant after surgery. Yes I had
surgery at BTC in Columbus Ohio when he was here but he was still my surgeon
and I would trust him all over again. I have the utmost respect for the man.
He knows his stuff and I am only sorry that he isn’t closer to where I am so
I could see him again. (He left around my one year anniversary). I would
recommend him to anyone in that area! If you want a second opinion from
here, I will give you mine definitely. Go for it! If that is the only
hesitation you have is waiting for that, don’t hesitate anymore. Okay?
