Salsa?
Hi Shelly,
I love Mexican food as well but I don’t eat it as much as I did before
surgery. Before surgery I ate it about twice a week. Now I’m down to once a
month. My tummy just can’t handle spicy foods anymore.

hot food……..well at 4 months out i can eat spicy food. i wouldn’t try
burning hot at this point but salsa is ok. do remember to check the label
for sugars too.don’t think i could have handled it for the first three
months but spicey stuff seems to sit fine, lol in small quantities of
course. realize though that ymmv.

Hi Michelle,
I’m about six months out and salsa is a big part of my diet. I have always been
a night snacker so I have changed my routine so that I will either have a small
portion of whatever protein I have for dinner or, more often then not, I have
baked tostitos (lower in fat than regular tortilla chips) and salsa. Obviously
you can’t have it too soon after surgery but hopefully you will have no problems
tolerating it.

was just wondering…how many of you were given orders
not to eat spicy food after surgery, or if it made you
dump?
I Michelle,
Heavens yes, I ate spicey food after surgery. Tacos were one of the first
things I ate. The hamburger and beans went down real well. I ate salsa on
my eggs to give them flavor too. Of course everyone seems to be different,
but for me Mexican has never been a problem. :0)
