hey guys, i have been lurking on some other message boards here and
some people are sooo against these surgeries….they remain
supportive of your decision but would rather see you not do it…they
give advice such as: just eat less and move more….try everything
else before you have the surgery….well i feel i have…i do not
need to write a list…but imagine 8 years of constant yo-yo
dieting. that is alot of stuff to try. i also feel emotionally i
need the surgery and that the decision to have the surgery is an
individual one. each person has their own reasons for wanting to
have the surgery and i think that alot of people who think of the
surgery as unneccessary are very uneducated or just do not
understand…and how could they, they are not me!!!! alot of the
posts are from people who had reversals, but had the reversals in the
80’s and had the surgery in the 70’s. i mean the surgery still has
its risks but it has come a long way….they state that the surgery
is very risky and dangerous, but everything that i have read
says…yes there are minimal risks of life-threatening situations,
but they are minimal…other risks and side-effects are more common
but major complications are in the lower percentage….so anyway, all
the negative talk and opinions is making me nervous…these people
say that they were soooo sick they almost died and had it
reversed…but i don’t know…i am feeling torn now….any advice?

I have not been approved yet but I have heard it all. The other day this woman I
didn’t even know said that her friend had this surgery and ended up losing her
arm. Have you ever. What did that have to do with it. I am bound and determined
to have this. I want a better life with out all this med I take plus all the
things I will be able to do. If you need support, we are here.

May I also suggest www.obesityhelp.com to further your research. It helped me

hi everyone,
thank you soooo much for all of your responses. I have officially
left the “uncensored” group….they are soooo biased. anyway, all of
your posts have made me decide to stick to the feeling in my heart,
even though i am scared to death about it!!!! anyway, i just want to
say thanks and i really appreciate all of your advice!!!!
