Can anyone tell me doseage

Sunday, October 31st, 2004

Ive heard so much about taking calcium citrate as a supplement instead of the
carbonate kind. But I think I may have missed what doseage my body may
require..I have had a bone scan which showed I have osteopenini. And do take a
nasal spray called micalcin in the a.m. But now that Ive lost so much weight
actually I am now underweight. My back rib cage hurts like hades. And I can
get some calcium citrate I know but the dosage is confusing to me also what
about the amout of magnesium….I had VBG NOT RNY surgery. And am not able to
eat solids
so am using lots of protien supplements with milk. Can any one give me an
answer to this perlexing question…Thanks alot Weinette1@…

Seeking information from Ontario residents on OHIP coverage

Sunday, October 31st, 2004

I am seeking to correspond with those who have had success in
appealing the Ontario government to cover all or a portion of a Tummy
Tuck or Abdominalplasty or a Pannelectomy. I am currently gathering
information to begin my appeal and would appreciate any feedback,
guidance anyone may offer me. Even those who have appealed private
insurance companies in the United States and Abroad would also be a
great help to me. Feel free to email me privatley if U wish….

Pre surgery tomorrow.

Saturday, October 30th, 2004

Foxfire, I hear ya. My presurgery appointments are tomorrow also. ButI am
not having 3 long days of testing. And now, I am wondering if that is not
such a good thing. Couldn’t they just knock you out with happy drugs before
teh tube is inserted?
As far as I know they are just gonna draw some blood and ask me about my
meds I am on. I am writing up my list of questions for them. I will have
my sleep apnea concerns at the top of the list. I am very scared of that.
And I wish I had someone to come to the hospital to help nursing staff watch
the machines after the operation. I fear the next two days after the
surgery more than the actual procedure.
I will be having my gall bladder removed at the time of the WLS. It will be
a bypass.
If anyone here is in Spokane, and is able to come see JENNY H. in Scared Heart.
HAHA, I just got that typo. IT IS SACRED HEART. :) I would appreciate it.
(See, I am desperate, asking perfect strangers to visit me!) I have a 9 year

You guys are just great! You have given me some great info
to think about. But more than that, you have shown me that yes it is
possible to go through W.L.S ,with a young child at home.Yes I do
have a great support system, supportive husband great mom and dad and
a 7 yearold daughter.I guess together we can make this thing work.It
seems to always put things into perspective, when you learn of others
who have made it through themselves. thanks again, TRACEY.

Reintroduction

Saturday, October 30th, 2004

Hi all. I am not quite sure where to start. I had WLS on February 15,
2001. Some of you who have been on the list for a while may remember me. I
am blind, and at the time I was on the list, I had a guide dog named Fez. A
lot has happened since then, and I won’t go into all the details, but I will
say that my honeymoon period is over, and I have hit a brick wall. I have
been struggling for several months, and finally decided I need to get back
on track. I’m not going to let my demons get the best of me. I never want
to feel the way I did before surgery again. In the year and a half since my
surgery, I’ve lost 110 pounds. I still have at least another 110 to go, and
I’m just feeling stuck. So, I’m back on the list, to see if I can get
myself motivated again. Has anyone else been through this?! If so, please
let me know.
I’ve seen a couple posts from people today who have gotten surgery dates. I
just wanted to say congratulations!! I’m so excited for you. Even though
I’m having a rough time right now, I don’t regret having the surgery at all.

More Protein Shake Problems

Saturday, October 30th, 2004

I don’t know if anyone remembers, but I posted last week about being
concerned about having to take protein shakes…
Someone suggested I order free samples from an internet site and I did -
thank you.
The problem is, it has absolutely NOTHING to do with the taste of the protein
shake. It’s entirely a mental thing. My husband tried to help me drink one
- it was vanilla mango surprise and it smelled pretty good. We mixed it with
milk and he just gulped some down while I sat by and got greener by the
minute just thinking about it.
I COULDN’T even try it. I would get it close to my mouth and I would start
to gag… My DH, being the show-off that he is decided to try to just eat
the powder and see if it was any better and just ate a whole spoonful!!! He
said it tasted better, but my stomach was churning just watching him.
In fact, my stomach has started churning just writing about it, lol.
Is there anyone else out there like me? What am I going to do? I know for a

Newbie!!

Friday, October 29th, 2004

Hi all!
I am 12 days lappy gastric by-pass post-op. Physicaly I think I
am handling it OK, I never thought the psychological issues would be
so frustrating and difficult. Iam (was ) an emotional
eater……happy, sad, bored, you name it I ate around it!! I
understand that only I can find activites, etc. that can get me
through this…mostly I just need to vent. The questions I have
are……how do you get in 50 gms of protein when I am having a
difficult time getting in the recommended amount of ozs. each time
I’m supposed to?! I’m only getting about a three quarters of a cup
to a cup of nutrient per day instead of the three quarters cup three
times per day. I’m just not hungry…..what a miracle that is!!!
However I also know that isn’t very healthy. Any suggestions??
Thanks! Peace n’ Prayers, Lindy

OOPS! In my excitement I screwed up!!!
