More Protein Shake Problems

I don’t know if anyone remembers, but I posted last week about being
concerned about having to take protein shakes…
Someone suggested I order free samples from an internet site and I did -
thank you.
The problem is, it has absolutely NOTHING to do with the taste of the protein
shake. It’s entirely a mental thing. My husband tried to help me drink one
- it was vanilla mango surprise and it smelled pretty good. We mixed it with
milk and he just gulped some down while I sat by and got greener by the
minute just thinking about it.
I COULDN’T even try it. I would get it close to my mouth and I would start
to gag… My DH, being the show-off that he is decided to try to just eat
the powder and see if it was any better and just ate a whole spoonful!!! He
said it tasted better, but my stomach was churning just watching him.
In fact, my stomach has started churning just writing about it, lol.
Is there anyone else out there like me? What am I going to do? I know for a

fact that I will not be able to drink these shakes…
It’s not just protein shakes though, I am squimish about everything. I won’t
eat deer meat, I wouldn’t eat the turkey my DH shot because it “wasn’t from
the store” so therefore it was weird.
I will not eat grizzles - if I get one while I’m eating I will NOT eat
anymore - in fact I practically get sick…
I really hope someone can offer me a suggestion! Please tell me I’m not the
only “weirdo” out there :o)

It is not written in stone that it is impossible for RNY patients to get
adequate protein from the food they eat. I rarely take a protein
supplement, once every two months maybe. I get my protein from the food
I eat. I eat a lot of yogurt, Arby’s roast beef sandwiches and bacon
cheeseburgers. My labs come back with me in at the medium level for
    protein.
