Do you have to have vitamin injections?

I am curious as to how many people have to get vitamin injections. I
asked the surgeon if that is something that I would have to do and he
said that it was a good possibility. I thought people could chew
their vitamins now. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

I take B12 shots every 2 weeks. It isn’t bad at all.
I still take a multi-vit and potassium by mouth though.

I am only 6 weeks pre-op. I talked to my doctor about this and he told me only
some people need to worry about B12 and Iron. I am having lab work done in 5
weeks to determine whether or not I am one of those.

If you want something you’ve never had, then you must do
    something you’ve never done.

sublingual and some take an intinsent factor pill along with their b12 vit so
they absorb it. I just found out Friday that I am VERY b12 anemic (the normal
    range is 300 to 1100 and mine is 98). I am 3 1/2 years post-op and was taking a
multi vit plus a sublingual b12. Apparently the sublingual does not work for me,
so I’m on injections now. The injections are no big deal, they dont hurt. And
believe me, i am a baby when it comes to shots or ANY pain for that matter :-) So if it turns out you do need the b12 shots, dont worry. Its no biggie.
