job opportunity…I finally did it!

Hi gang,
I had my first support group meeting today. It was the
very first for this group. There was a good turn out.
The doc, 2 of his staff members, 6 post-ops and 5
pre-ops. It was a little disorganized, but I know that
is because it was the first one. It was fun to meet
others “in person” who are going thru or have gone
thru the same things as myself. We’re starting a buddy
system or an angel system or maybe both. I met 1
person who will be having surgery 10 days before me.
Can’t wait to get to know them more. All very nice
people. All after the same goal.
After the group left, I stayed behind to talk with the
doc and his staff RN about that WLS coordinator
position I’m trying to convince them they need. I

presented them with an updated resume, and a long list
of the duties, responsibilities I feel I would have to
help patients have a better WLS journey. I also
included alot of ideas from you folks out there,
regarding what you think would have helped in your own
personal “journeys”. THANK YOU ALL SOOOOO MUCH for
your ideas.
The doc said he thought it was something he would like
to do. The RN, who was a little older (and a twig)
said she felt it was a good idea too, and to have the
coordinator be a person who has gone thru it, would be
EVEN BETTER. SO, if I can just get them to get things
in motion. I’m ready to start NOW. I told them I was
not working at this time and was available at any
time.
I hope they let me start before my surgery date (11/7)
and take a few weeks off for recovery. It will let me
get things started in the office and MAKE MONEY TOO!!!
(Now there’s a good idea!)
Well, please pray that they call soon and get the ball
rolling. WIll keep you all updated as things happen.
AGAIN….Thank you to those who shared your ideas. It
really helped. AND, if anyone has any more ideas about
what a wls coordinator can do to make your wls
experience smoother, more pleasant and better
overall….PLEASE send them my way!!!
(((HUGS)))
