6 months post OP
Well, I have to report in since I haven’t in a very long time. I am Jody
from Columbus Ohio. I had my Surgery April 24th 2002. I was at my highest
weight was 408 and that is when I had gotten started on getting the surgery.
It took me a year to get everything going and today I am so very happy to say
I am a lil more than 1/2 way to MY goalof 250 pounds to be gone forever. I
weighed myself at our local WIC office and I was down to 280 pounds!!!!!! I
NEVER thought I would actually SEE ME at anything under 300 ever again and
here I am!!! I was at a stand still for about a month and was getting
discouraged a bit but it seemed to just happen.
I do have some hair loss. My hair is so thin now I will get it cut and let it
grow out again after the thinning and falling out lessens. I have to take
meds still but hopefully soon that will lessen and I will be pill free as
well. <Grin
Good luck to all those who are just starting out. YES I would do this again
if I had to do it over. YES I am so very glad that I did this.
Always,
Jody

Elaine,
Pat
Thank you so much for the letter and update! I have been feeling pretty down
(I haven’t lost anything in about two weeks) and my dr. has this “schedule”
he thinks I should be losing on… I had my lap rny on Oct. 29th of last year.
I have gone from 305 to 231 in five months. The differences are incredible.
Thank you for reminding me that the doctor’s schedule isn’t important~ my
PROGRESS is!!
Last week, for the first time in 32 years I went into a regular store
(Target) into the MISSES section and bought a top and a dress in size XL. I was
so
excited!! Just five months ago I was a size 24. How can I lose sight of this
incredible change? I just got back from a one mile walk, and I’m invigorated
instead of tired and sore. I tie my shoes from a standing position without
gasping for breathe. I go up a flight of stairs with no pain or heavy
breathing. Wow!
Thank you for sharing your story. It is very similar to mine, and it makes
me feel good to know that I am not “behind the curve” (to quote my doctor) The
“curve” is his. My body has its own curves now…and I am liking them more
every day
