Foul Smelling Gas
Hi Marlene:
I don’t usually post to the group, I tend to be a looky lu but I can sympathize
with you with the gas problem. I’m 8 months post-op and occasionally have quite
a bit of the nasty stuff.
A couple of things you might try:
1. Acidophilus Tablets from the pharmacy or a health food store. Grind one up
so you can take it with some applesauce. The acidophilus will get some good
bacteria going in your digestive tract and might help eliminate some of the gas
and odor problem.
2. Activated Charcoal Capsules can be purchased at any pharmacy. I hear this
works very well in eliminating odor from the lower regions.
You still very new and need to heal a bit more and maybe wait until you’re back
on regular foods before trying one or both of these. Also, you might check them
out with your doctor before you use either one of them just to be on the safe
side.
Good Luck and Take Care.

I am frustrated, embarrased and humiliated by chronic foul smelling
gas. It has had a negative affect on my social and work life. Beano &
simethecone help minimally. It seems like all the healthy foods give
me gas. While I’ve always had gas problems, it seems worse since I
had my surgery 2 1/2 yrs. ago. I feel despair! Anyone found
anything that works? Suzanne
