It may depend on if you are open or lap. I was Lap and I went on a family vacation 5 weeks out of surgery. I was very carful what I ate, and I followed the rules as far as chew chew chew, and the drinking water rules. I could not swim in the pool, but I did go white water rafting, for the 1st time, and I handled it well. 2 weeks after surgery I had out of town company. We went to an amusment park. I did not go on any rides, but I was able to walk around fine. I bought an over the shoulder cooler with my premade protien drinks and h2o in it. Good luck. Jeanne Diane.
