Some questions answered
The pouch for a normal RNY (if there is one) is 1-2 oz or the size of your
thumb… If you have a BPD then the Pouch is more like a DS 6-8oz banana
size stomach or the size of your fist. the stomach begins about 3/4ths the
size of a football and the BPD leaves 1/3 of the stomach intact cutting it
down and removing the pylorus. It works more like the RNY…but the stomach
size is 8 oz…
very small… (one and a half mm?) but I could be remembering it
wrong… the sixe is very small hence the need to chew well and for pills to
disolve quickly and not set on the stoma disolving and causing ulcers…(Your
pinky/pointer finger around?).
