Protein Price

Wednesday, April 27th, 2005

I pay less than $80.00 a month for my beloved Problend 55 (I’m a proximal,
and I drink 3 protein shakes a day), and that includes shipping.

I was told (strongly recommended) to use the protein shakes my doctor
recommends, to buy them we had to get them in bulk and it was about
$200—the thing is, you may not like them so I wouldn’t spend the money
unless you get a sample and can try them out AFTER your surgery. Your

Calcium Citrate vs carbonate

Tuesday, April 26th, 2005

HI,
I’m confused about which calcium to take after RNY, I’ve been using
carbonate (tums) for a year, but now am hearing that they aren’t
adequate and that Citrate is what we should be taking to prevent
calcium deficiency.
Thoughts please…
Steve

One last question…

Tuesday, April 26th, 2005

I have supposed to do some bowel prep, but all my
doctor said was to get 1 - mag citrate for Saturday
and 2 - fleet phosphourous for Sunday…he said just
follow the instructions on each package…is this
familiar with you all?
Is there something else I should do.
Any quidance is appreciated!
Warmly -
James

Need Support in Pennsylvania

Tuesday, April 26th, 2005

I moved to the Scranton / Wilkes-Barre area of Pennsylvania last year and am
feeling very lost without the medical staff that supported me and performed
my operation. I don’t know of anyone here that has had a RNY.
If you are from PA please contact me?

3 months out

Tuesday, April 26th, 2005

Hi all~~
Today is the 3 month anniversary of having my surgery. I have so far lost 63
pounds, 8 inches off my waist and 4 inches off my chest and hips. I sleep
better, I can get around more and my clothes are falling off me! I still
have a problem with diarrhea, but I am confident that my doctors and I will
get to the bottom of it. All in all, I have no regrets about the surgery. I
am happier than I have ever been and look forward to losing even more weight.
The best part is sharing this with my wonderful boyfriend who had the same
surgery 18 months ago and lost 260 pounds. Being able to share this with him
is really special.
Anyway…. thanks for all your encouragement, advice and support. It has
meant the world to me!

another baby step closer!

Monday, April 25th, 2005

My goodness, after 7 weeks of insurance/ pcp office help nightmare I
finally got my referral approved to see the surgeon, its not surgery
yet but a small step closer. I had to get a copy of my referral form
from the pcp and fax it myself, every 2 minutes for 2 hours, before
the insurance said they had it, my pcp sent it seven times over the
past 7 weeks and supposedly it was never recieved. well I know what
to do for the next step- do it myself! well i enjoy reading everyones
posts, it is a wonderful place for information, thanks to all.
