suing restaurants-OT

“I am in the process of putting together a lawsuit”
Seems to me that an establishment has a right to make their own policies
about discounts as long as it doesn’t discriminate due to race, religion or
creed. Many have a reduced price menu for kids and seniors. If you are not
a kid or a senior, you shouldn’t expect a discounted menu. I know some may
honor your request, but it’s hardly mandatory. If you don’t like how they
treat you, vote with your feet……walk out and don’t patronize them.
Everyone is lawsuit happy these days. Next thing you know, someone is going
to sue McDonald’s for their coffee being too hot. :-) Ritch

I have to agree with Ritch. Suing is not a great thing. All it does is tie
up the legal system, encourage other similar type lawsuits and ultimately
raise the prices that consumers pay. I used to go to Country Buffet a lot
pre-surgery and I have thought about going back but I don’t have a card from
my doctor and I really don’t want to get in a hassle about it, so I decided
that if I really want to go, I’ll go and pay full price, even though I’ll be
eating a fraction of what I used to eat. It’s not like I can’t afford $3 or
$4 extra dollars, I think it has to do with the all you can eat mentality,
you know, getting something for nothing. For now, I just go to regular
restaurants that let me have a child’s plate or senior rate, or I take the
rest home. BTW, I don’t know if you have a Sweet Tomatoes around you, but I
took my son there and told the manager I had WLS and she gave me the child’s
rate even though I didn’t have proof. I was very impressed by that and will
certainly be back, but it’s a courtesy not a requirement and if she hadn’t I
still would have eaten there, just maybe not too often.
