Congrats Leslie on a great attitude. I too lost a great deal of weight
(-240). I also feel incredible, amazing, and absolutely gorgeous. My
reasoning for not liking a derogative word like fattie, fat, or any other
word that is insulting is deeper then my own feelings. If I accept that
word, then someday if I have children or a niece, nephew or friend that has a
weight problem I have to accept that word for them too. Im not willing to
let society believe its ok to call anyone that. I truely believe it is
discrimination. Of course the word doesnt hurt me anymore, but the little
girl on the playground, the older lady grocery shopping, I feel for them.
There are alot of people who accept themselves at the weight they are (no
matter what it is), I give them credit as I give all of you for being able to
accept such words. This is a great site and there are incredible people
here. We all have different opinions and its great that we can share them
with each other. No one is right or wrong about the subject, we are all just
