Thanks and thoughts
My thanks to all of you who kindly wrote to me individually–I am
trying to take that good advice. I promise to start taking my
vitamins (got some liquid Centrum!) every day. I’ve got the
hydration thing covered, even though it’s a toughie. My secret? Ice!
And freezer pops
I keep both the juice (Dole, no sugar added) and
Hendries No Sugar Added. I have found that a lot of times just
keeping something icy near the roof of my mouth helps a lot. So that
pop or a piece of ice is just the item. My freezer has a different
profile now, post WLS. Before it held bulk items like frozen
hamburger, now it holds a couple bags of ice, the juice pops, the
cheaper ones and a lotta empty space (gotta fill it up–more ice?).
The fridge has lots of cans of Glucerna (haven’t heard anyone
mention that yet–meal replacement/substitute for diabetics),
Crystal Light bottles, water bottles, water, canned fruit, little
cans of prune juice, diet Jell-O, and leftover what-have-you that
I’ve managed to cook (rice in chicken stock at the moment).
Wow, I can’t believe I managed to write all that! I guess I’m
getting stronger after all

Watch the sugar content on Glucerna. I believe it has some as well as a lot
of carbs in comparison to protein. That is why a lot of people don’t use it
afterwards. If you are super sensitive it could make you dump. But it
sounds like you have a lot of good things in your fridge for immediatley
postop.
