Been Approved and Have a Date!!!!!!!!!!
Hi Everyone!
I have been in this group for a little over a year now and after
reading every single message last year (seriously, every single one)
and researching in other places, I decided to have the surgery. I
had an HMO but switched to BC/BS (state of FL plan) during open
enrollment because they are wonderful about paying for the surgery.
Sure enough, I had my initial consult with Dr. James Balliro in
Tallahassee on Jan. 11 and all of my paperwork was sent to BCBS on
Jan. 28. The insurance company called me yesterday to say I had been
APPROVED!!!! The Dr.’s office had a cancellation for next Wed., Feb.
19th.!!!!!!!! I’m so excited and kinda nervous too.
I don’t post often but wanted to say thanks to all of you who share
your lives and experiences and also thanks to the moderators who
dedicate so much time to this site. I can’t begin to tell you how
much you all have helped me in my decision making.
I have told some of my family and friends about the approval and
surgery and they are all happy for me but they just cannot comprehend
the joy that I’m feeling inside after being fat for the majority of
my 42 years of life. I knew all of you guys would understand
though. Thanks for being there.
