Hi from the UK
I had my WLS on the 7th Feb - 3 weeks ago today. I’m still a little
nervous and unsure I think. I’ve lost nearly 5kg to date and am
devastated - I suppose I expected more (considering the first 4 went
in week 1) but alas not. I’m exercising - I’ve been to the gym 4
times this week. Obviously taking it a little slower then usual.
I’m having Yogurt or Porridge for breakies ; Soup for lunch and Soup
for dinner (with a little mash)
Some fruit juice in-between and perhaps tea and coffee, nothing much
else though. I’m eating
(I use that word rather liberally) less then my dietitian
recommended but can’t actually handle any more for the moment.
Anyone have some advise - am I doing something wrong? Shouldn’t I be
loosing faster (in this 6 week liquid phase?)
Disillusioned
Cindy
PS: How do I loose the urge to chew something !!!

try cutting out the carbs and sugars (fruit juice) and concentrating on protein
and see if that helps.

I just have to wonder
3 weeks post op and youre at the gym 4 times a week?! TAKE IT EASY ON
YOURSELF! You just had a major surgery and need time to heal!
What is your Doctors stance on this? Mine (I had an Open RNY) had me doing
*NO* heavy physical activity for 4-6 weeks, and only then could I start
doing things very very easy again, like aerobic walking and such. I didnt
start doing anything really hefty until 3 months.
Secondly, dont stress about the scale. Drink your fluids, try your best to
get in your protein when you can and take it easy. In your liquid stage,
drinking protein drinks is often a really great way to give your body what
it needs as well. Has your Doctor talked to you at all about these?
And as for the urge to chew I often snuck a crouton to sedate that need,
then just spit it out. Worked to satisfy the craving.
Good luck.

Hi Cindy,
I’m not sure what that translates to in lbs. but I’m sure your
doing fine. I am scheduled for a LapRNY 3/3/03, EEEKKKKS that’s
tomorrow, lol. Are you allowed to chew sugar free gum? I am taking
Koolerz to the hospital with me. It’s a new sugarless gum. It comes
in lemonade, orange citrus, and berry and it’s very good. Hope this
helps. Best of luck to you.
