has this happened to anyone else
Hi , I.m Cheryl and have been hanging out her for a while but never posted till
now. I am post op open rny 10 weeks (1/3/03) Last Sunday, after my husband and i
were wrestling with our 100 lb german shepard who was bleeding, (my husband was
trying to hold him and i was trying to control the bleeding) I began
experiencing left upper quadrant abd pain. I laid in bed all afternoon with a
heating pad thinking i had pulled a muscle. Within 5 hours my husband had to
take me to the ER. I was hunched over and could barely walk. I had a low grade
fever and an elevated white count. the CT of my abd showed an “inflammatory
process” at the anastomosis site. I was admitted for IV antibiotics and
hydration.Kept npo for two days then started on clear liguids. Also on a
morphine pump for pain control. I was discharged after 4 days and am still
gaining my strength back.
so for all us newbies out there when you think all is going great (like i did)
you still need to be careful…….
