Uncontrollable Gas

Does anybody have trouble with controlling passing gas? I seem to not
be able to control any gas, and am worried that this will be
permanent. I am about 5 months out, having had an RNY on Nov. 21. I
have lost about 80 pounds.
I read that I might need to cut out dairy, which is what I eat a lot
of, like yogurt and cottage cheese. Does this type of thing last a
long time, or will it pass (hee hee). Thanks for your help!

I replied to you directly and meant to include the group, so here
goes again (if I can remember what I said! :).
I’m 4 1/2 months out from surgery and also have uncontrollable gas.
And the odor is terrible! I seem to have the gas worse when I get in
bed at night, and my husband is going to make me start sleeping with
the dog! :) Seriously, it does get embarassing. I hope it gets
    better with time.
My surgeon mentioned at support group that the gas results from
malabsorbed fat. You mentioned dairy products, I don’t drink milk or
eat yogurt, becuase I’m trying to keep my sugar grams low, but I do
eat cheese and cottage cheese. So I don’t know if that could be a
    cause.
Any longer term post ops that can help with this?
