Sleeping habits
Its interesting to learn other post ops have experienced changes in their
sleeping habits. For me, pre-op I had sleep apnea really bad plus I had insomnia
and had to take AMbien every night, and sometimes two. It was really desperate.
After the surgery, I guess I was so knocked out by it and of course trying to
limit the meds because of my brand new sensitive pouch - that I didn’t use
ambien anymore. I go to sleep just fine now. I think the fact that I lost so
much weight in my neck area had a profound affect on that. I find I wake up
sometimes in the middle of the night and I might better spend that time being up
and about. But I fall back to sleep and find I wake up early (this is a real
change) and ready to go. I don’t feel like I’m in a stupor or a fog in the
morning anymore. So now I’m not going to worry about feeling wakeful at times
and maybe I’ll just mosey over to the computer until I feel sleepy again. Chris
