Digest Number 4319 Batwings

Stephanie: Would you share your recipe with us all? We can all use that
anti-dry formula and the exfoliate. I spend much too much on these products
at local bath and beauty shops.

    Deb,
I’ll be happy to! Here you go.
    Stephanie
    Salt Scrub:
    8 oz. coarse kosher salt
8 oz. soft vegetable oils such as sweet almond, apricot kernel,
grapeseed (this one is essential as far as I am concerned, use at least
2 oz.), fractionated coconut, hempseed, avocado, jojoba (also essential,
use at least 1 oz.), olive
1 tsp. vitamin E oil, or the contents of 4 vitamin E capsules (this is
important - it is great for the skin, but Vitamin E also prevents

    rancidity of the other oils.)
3-5 drops of your favorite essential oil, I prefer lavender & patchouli
as they are so very healing for my skin
Combine oils, vitamin E, and essential oil. Allow to sit and combine,
covered, for at least 20-30 minutes. Add the oils to the salt, a little
bit at a time, until the salt seems saturated and slightly runny. You
may not use all the oil. Pour mixture into a clean, airtight container.
To use, stir before each use. Take about 1 Tbsp. out of the jar, and rub
GENTLY in a circular motion on your super dry skin. Rinse in warm water.
Your skin WILL feel greasy for a little while, but the oils will soak in
and you will be soooo soft!
A word of caution - do not use on broken or freshly shaved skin - it
will hurt! Ask me how I know! ;-) Also, if you use this in the shower,
be VERY careful not to slip!
    Body Butter:
    1 oz. beeswax
2 oz. vegetable butter (cocoa butter, shea butter, mango butter, aloe
butter, etc. - I like to use a combo of cocoa and shea)
2 oz. hard vegetable oil (coconut, palm, palm kernel, soybean, etc. - I
prefer coconut since it melts beautifully at body temperature)
2 oz. soft vegetable oil (sweet almond, apricot kernel, grapeseed
(essential), fractionated coconut, hempseed, avocado, jojoba
    (essential), olive
1 tsp. vitamin E oil, or the contents of 4 vitamin E capsules (this is
important - it is great for the skin, but Vitamin E also prevents
    rancidity of the other oils.)
3-5 drops of your favorite essential oil, I prefer lavender & patchouli
as they are so very healing for my skin
Melt the beeswax in a microwave. Do this SLOWLY, 15-20 seconds until
almost completely liquid. Add the butter, and microwave again, 15-20
seconds at at time until melted. Add the hard oil and repeat. Add the
soft oil and stir. Let sit for 5-10 minutes to allow the mixture to cool
slightly. Stir. Add the vitamin E and essential oil and stir very well.
Pour mixture into a clean airtight container. It will harden as it cools.
To use, only a very small amount is needed! Rub on dry skin and let it
soak in. When my hands and feet get very dry, I put it on before bed and
wear socks and gloves. When I wake up, my skin is so soft!
