Has anyone had the “Sapala-Wood Micropouch” Roux-en-Y gastric bypass
surgery? I’ve read about it only on their web site
www.micropouch.com. (nothing else is out on the internet about it).
This procedure consists of a 1-2 cc pouch (compared to the standard
15-30 cc pouch) and is bypassed distally. The purpose of this is to
not re-gain any weight in the future when your pouch stretches. If
so, could you tell me about your experience with it, how did it work
or not work for you, etc.
I am pre-op and am going through the hoops now with a doctor to have
a standard lap RNY but if there’s something better out there I’d like
to know. I’m afraid of gaining weight in future years. Thanks!
