Cathy,
I think everyone in this group can understand your being nervous
about surgery! I had my Medial RNY on July 23rd and was a nervous
wreck for the days before it. All kinds of things blasted through my
thoughts even though I truly knew I realy wanted to have it. I even
thought about backing out right up until I reached the hospital. I
always managed to make it through the panic moments by reminding
myself of all of the success stories I have read on these groups and
in my research. I think it’s normal to be scared. Surgery always is
scarey! Changing your entire eating lifestyle is scarey. But, it’s
the rewards in your life afterwards that make it the right thing to
do!

Let me assure you that it’s all worth it! I’m only five weeks out
and have lost 34.5 pounds. I already feel so much more energetic and
so much happier! My asthma is almost completely a non-issue. My
clothes are baggy instead of skin tight. It’s wonderful knowing that
I’ll have more years to enjoy my husband, children and grandchilren.
My suggestion is to every time you start feeling overly nrevous
log onto this site. Read the messages and post yourself. There is so
much wonderful support on here. Also, use your computer and find
success stories to save and read. You’ve made the right decision for
your health and I assure you that you’ll be so happy you did!
Email me anytime if you need to ask questions or just need some
reassurance! I’m here for you! (JunkinJ@…)
