Sweats…… and…… ?? Psych eval
Hi,
Thanks for your responses about sweats. I know the question was a bit on the
ridiculous side but this problem for me I feel always gets blown off by the
physician given my size when I think that it may be something else. Oh well…..
I am a bit leary of the psych eval required by the program. What are they
looking for or what criteria needs met in order to be able to proceed with the
surgery from a psychological standpoint?
Thanks

Regarding the psych eval.: My psych eval consisted of the psychiatrist wanting
to make sure that I was mentally capable of knowing what I was getting in to,
making sure I had a support group system in place, and determining if there was
a stable spouse, parent, child to monitor my mood swings (if any). Personally I
thought it was a complete waste of time and money. However, I have known some
people who, due to hormonal floods, tend to go to other comforts besides food,
feel some depressive situations, or can’t handle the weightloss. I think that
is what the psychiatrist wants to make sure how mentally healthy you are before
they give you a green light.
There is, no doubt, physical problems with our bodies, but we tend to avoid the
mental situations we have or will be getting into once the weight is gone.
