My surgeon is very, very careful and has had to do NO transfusions in 15 years of surgery. There ARE surgeons out there who are NOT careful and the idea that the patient has given permission for transufsions makes his job easier. Whether or not you agree with this assesment it means ALOT to someone who is a JW. It was to them, this was directed. I know if I was a JW that would be the single, most important thing to me, the surgeons record with blood transfusions and his attitude towards it.
