Fwd: >OSSG< re :blood transfusions
There is risk to all surgery’s. I had the R-Y surgery on Feb. 24, 2003 had a
hard time. I was in the hospital for 5 weeks and home with pick line for 2
more weeks, nothing to eat or drink for 7 weeks I had a leak. Since then I have
lost 92 pounds things have changed my life. People asked me if I had to do it
again would I, the answer to that is yes, yes, yes. I’m no longer have high
sugar. No machine on my face at night. No pills at all. More energy, life is
sooo
much better. I am having my eye corrected, no more glasses. Had the right one
done the left one on the Nov. 11 Th. Things are changing, I am enjoying my
grandsons so much, I can play with them now, ware before I could not. Did not
have the energy. Hard to move. Jeanne P.S. This is my 2 cents.

My entire point here is Jehovahs Witnesses are VERY concerned about blood
transfusions and they WILL go in search of a surgeon who is very careful and
has had none or very little problems that will require them.
My surgeon is very, very careful and has had to do NO transfusions in 15
years of surgery. There ARE surgeons out there who are NOT careful and the
idea that the patient has given permission for transufsions makes his job
easier. Whether or not you agree with this assesment it means ALOT to
someone who is a JW. It was to them, this was directed.
I know if I was a JW that would be the single, most important thing to me,
the surgeons record with blood transfusions and his attitude towards it.
