Havent tried nothing new lately except vitamins & PLEASE dont tell me it could
be from them, these are the first vitamins I have found that I can keep in me
with no problems…
Could it be from not drinking enough water??? Cuz I have been slipping lately

unusual symptom

Tuesday, August 29th, 2006

Hi. I am 14 months out and have lost 135 pounds so far. All has
been going well. I have occasional problems with hypoglycemia and
react poorly to certain foods and dump on sugar but nothing out of
the ordinary. Until last night. I woke up from a sound sleep to
horrible razor-blade-like pain in my abdomen. Specifically, mostly
up high in my pouch area. I wasn’t nauseous, no unusual bowel
symptoms or gas, just stabbing pain. I have already had my gall
bladder removed, so that can’t be the problem. I tried taking a sip
of water and that made the pain MUCH worse. I continued to wake up
with this pain several times thru the night, but no fever or
anything else. This morning I have not had the stabbing pain, more
of a dull, throbbing pain and my abdomen feels tender, as if I’ve
been punched in the gut. I tried to have some water again and while
it wasn’t as bad as last night, it didn’t feel good. I have an appt
at the Dr’s this afternoon, but wondered if anyone experienced

There is risk to all surgery’s. I had the R-Y surgery on Feb. 24, 2003 had a
hard time. I was in the hospital for 5 weeks and home with pick line for 2
more weeks, nothing to eat or drink for 7 weeks I had a leak. Since then I have
lost 92 pounds things have changed my life. People asked me if I had to do it
again would I, the answer to that is yes, yes, yes. I’m no longer have high
sugar. No machine on my face at night. No pills at all. More energy, life is
sooo
much better. I am having my eye corrected, no more glasses. Had the right one
done the left one on the Nov. 11 Th. Things are changing, I am enjoying my
grandsons so much, I can play with them now, ware before I could not. Did not
have the energy. Hard to move. Jeanne P.S. This is my 2 cents.

Anyone have problems like this?

Monday, August 28th, 2006

I have seen my surgeon and primary Drs about this problem but, would like to
know if any of you experienced this and what you do about it.
I get severe hypoglycemia (to the point of almost passing out - low 40s). I
get this very frequently…sometimes everyday. I usually take the dextro
tablets made for this and when I can eat, I eat a peanut butter sandwich or
crackers. It is not like when I was on insulin and I would get very shakey,
sweat, and
hungry. Now there is little warning til pretty low and then I get extremely
nauseated and rarely shakey and sweaty. Sometimes I get it up only to have
further problems with it throughout the day and night. This started around six
months and I am now nine months out. This hits so hard it pretty much stops what
ever I am doing and I feel bad for a good while afterwards.
My surgeon said to eat every 2 hours, limit simple carbs and no sugar. I
don’t eat sugar - diab. I do eat sugar free stuff and he said that was ok. I
think

Requirement

I need to get information from Weight Watchers as to when I became a
lifetime member. It was over 25 years ago and I have been going up
and down like a yo-yo since! I no longer have my books from that long
ago. Has anyone out there gone to Weight Watchers for documentation
of their weight loss efforts?
As you can tell I am in the “getting approval” stage! I see the
surgeon for the first time on Friday, Oct. 24!
Thanks for all of your help!

Too much air from drinking . . .

Sunday, August 27th, 2006

Dot Boulia said . . . << I am finding that it hurts to drink water because of
the air in my digestive track.
I had the same problem - drinking, I just swallowed too much air! I spent more
time burping than drinking. I solved the problems by using straws. Mostly, I
use straws with everything I drink, and I swallow my pills with protein shakes
(which I drink with a straw).
This is my solution to the too much air problem . . . YMMV.

Denied!!

Sunday, August 27th, 2006

It is unbelievable to me that people who do not know us, will never meet us or
our families get to make these life or death decisions for us. They get to
decide if we can have the surgery that would save our lives.
I have been denied by Humana again and according to the woman I spoke with I
have no more appeals. Which is not what my benefits book says. I can only now
contact the Missouri Insurance Dept. I don’t think that will make any difference
but I plan to send them a note explaining the situation.
I do not have to option of paying for the surgery myself. I do not have anyone
that could help me with it. Which means I will not be having the surgery. I am
not sure what I will do now. I am going to have to try to diet and lose some of
this weight.
I just wanted to let everyone know what has been going on. I haven’t been online
for a bit, I have been very bummed about being denied again.
Thanks for your support.
