		<description>Wow... a year ago right now I was in recovery from my open RNY...
 what a year it's been. I've posted my story before, it started out
 not pleasant ( had 2 surgeries within 1 week) but once I got home in
 May I started gaining strength back and losing weight, of course. It
 was a hard time, having to learn to walk and take care of myself
 again, as well as adjusting to the new stomach and taking all the
 supplements (plus the extra meds I needed from the 2 surgeries, like
 blood thinner shots... eek).
 But one year later I'm fully recovered, my weight has stabilized at
 135 pounds, I'm off all meds including insulin and all diabetic
 meds. The only things I have to take now are my supplements, and I
 do that pretty religiously.
 It's a whole new life. I've read others that say they just stop and
 stare at themselves in the mirror, can't believe it's the same
 person, well that's me. I've always been heavy, always battling the
 &lt;!--more--&gt;
 demons, and still do battle the "head hunger," and always will.
 Here's to the next year, may it be not near as dramatic as last year!
 Happy and blessed to be alive!!
