Plateaus - NOT!
Dear Peeps (everyone, not just Lesley!) -
Please try to stop thinking of these as “plateaus”, they’re not. They’re steps.
Get used to it, they will continue.
Bodies take breaks sometimes. Othertimes, we’re building muscle at a rate where
the scale seems to stand still. As long as your body is changing, you are not
stopped. Muscle weighs more than fat, so while your bod is getting sleeker,
more svelte, more toned and buff, the scale looks like nothing is happening.
What’s the answer? THROW AWAY THE SCALE! Weighing yourself everyday, or even
every week, is not helpful. Try once a month! Instead, start to notice the new
shape of your body. Look in the mirror and find things to appreciate, things
you may never have seen before . . . watch your collarbones appear, your rolls
subside, and your ruffles develop! Check out how much pointier your elbows are,
your wristbones, find your hipbones. Look at your ribs! See how much more of
“the toys” are visible. Turn sideways, and notice how much thinner you are
front-to-back. Look over you shoulder and notice that the second set of boobs
are gone from your back. Or all of the variations thereof!
Weight comes off in chunks, it’s never an ounce an hour kind of thing. You may
go for 2 weeks, or 2 months, and then drop 10-15 lbs overnight.
Try to be patient - you’ll be fine!

Hello everyone,
I too am new, have just been hanging out watching all the posts.
I am now 8 weeks out and have lost 75 lbs. and have not lost anymore
in the past week. I am afraid that I am done. My doctor might have
cursed me because he told me that I was loosing too fast. Is this
normal for me to sop loosing for right know and is the weight that I
lost too much?
