9 mos out-need menu amts to compare
I’m 9 months out from an Proximal RNY(150 cm), with a 60 cc pouch; or so I was
told; now I wonder. I have always been “behind” in my total lost, (88
#)compared to others on the board. But until now, I’ve put that to:
1. having my thyroid removed,
2. both ankles full of metal, very little walking tolerated, but stationary
biking is ok–10 miles a day right now.
Can some post-ops out about the same length of time, tell me what amounts you’re
eating ? Even from the time I got home, it’s seemed like I “could ” (if I were
to push the issue) always hold more then 2 ozs. Now- at 9 months out, I don’t
have a clue as to how much is normal for this stage.
breakfast-2 eggs, scambled OR 1 egg & 1/2 english muffin, OR 1 egg omelet w/ham
lunch- mini meatloaf (5 ozs raw wt) OR 2 chicken tenders,boiled-either meat with
1/4 cup CCheese
Snack- 2 cu inches cheese, OR 1/2 cup ricotta cheese
Dinner- some type of meat - 5 ozs raw weight, 1/2 cup green beans (most of the
time, I don’t finish everything)
snack-fresh orange-medium(need the fiber and this satisfies my sweet tooth)
also, water, suppliments and at least 1 Isopure Zero Carb shake a day.
Even before surgery, if I went over 40 carbs a day, I’d gain.

Firstly, don’t compare yourself so closely with others. Everyone will lose
at different rates. Everyone has their own issues, problems and issues.
With both that you sighted, I have no doubt that it has some impact on your
weight loss, but try to look at things in a positive way.
88 lbs in 9 months is pretty good! I am not sure exactly how much protein
you’re getting in your shake, so I estimated.
I ran what you’re eating through fit day:
Totals
Calories 1193
Fat 64g
Carbs 29g
Protein 123g
If I can make a suggestion, perhaps try trading some of your higher fat
foods for more veggies. This may also reduce your protein intake, but from
the looks of it, you’re not hurting in that category. You’d still be under
40 carbs, but I think you’ll find that with more veggies you’ll also not
feel like you can eat more, either.
Good luck!
