OK, stop freakin’! And stop thinking of WL as slide . . . it’s more like steps.
YOu go along, level, then drop, level, drop. Also, you may very well be losing
inches at this point, although *not* pounds . . . are your clothes getting
bigger?
I also would ask how much protein are you getting in? I recommend protein
supplements to everyone . . . your body *needs* good quality fuel in order to
burn fat. I use Champion Nutrition’s Pure Whey Stack, Proplete Gold by LaBrada,
and Syntrax Nectar. You can get them, jugs or samples of them, from
VitaLady.com. All are very low to *no* sugar, ready to absorb instantly.
Not only can protein supps boost your weightloss, but they are great for craving
control, and satiety. If you haven’t been doing them, protein shakes can be one
of those things that shake up your routine, and jumpstart WL.
But tootles, we *all* worry that we’re gonna be the *one* that this doesn’t work
for. All of us have times when we step on the scale and *freak*, because it
hasn’t moved, or hasn’t moved enough. Try to relax, *DO NOT* cut your caloric
intake (maybe even boost it), and stop weighing yourself. Choose a time
interval (preferably 1/month, no more than 1/week) and weigh only the same
approx. time. Best time, first thing in the morning, naked and empty (after
you’ve gone to bathroom), before you eat or drink anything. Weighing yourself
daily just sets yourself up for this kind of obsessing . . . I’m much happier
and healthier emotionally when I stay *off* the scale except once a month or so.
I focus on how my clothes fit, and changing sizes.
Also, 2 weeks does not constitute either a plateau, or a new set point. Both
require *months and months* of no movement. I think one definition of a plateau
I read recently was 4 months of no movement.
You’ve been doing *great* - 60 lbs in 3 months? Focus on that, and you’ll be
doing the *happy dance* soon . ..
Good luck, and hang in . . .

Subject: HELP….weight loss stopped!
Hi All,
I always said I would never be the kind of person that
freaks out if my weight loss stalled….I lied!
I had surgery (lap-rny) on October 10th, 2003. So I am
31/2 months out. I have lost 59 lbs. It has been over
2 weeks since I last lost anything! Now I am afraid I
am not going to lose anymore! My start weight was 285
and now I’m at 226…far above where I had hoped my
new set point would be. Ok…I’ll stop panicking for a
second…What I need to hear is if this has happened
to others around the same time frame? How can you jump
start the weight loss again?
I am going to Curves 3-4 times per week….is that
enough exercise? Could it be that I have not been
drinking enough water? I would appreciate it if you
can respond soon.
By the way…my eating habits have remained the
same….3 meals…maybe 1 healthy snack..portions
small!!
Thanks for your help!!
