dear wanda
congrats on taking that first step !!!
youre well on your way to finding the real person inside you !
you went back to work WAY too soon ... i understand you might HAVE
to go back
you need to heal inside as well as out so take it easy at home for
at LEAST another 2 weeks
let your DH do the laundry and the cleaning !!
you should be taking in some sort of protein ...
your body needs protein to heal the tissues that are disrupted
during the surgical process
you had the same amount of surgery as did someone who was
<!--more-->
open ..but the difference is .. yours was done thru port holes
my first 3 weeks after surgery all i did was drink protein
drinks ... i purchased the formula at the hospital where i had
surgery.
you should also be getting in at LEAST 48 oz of fluid a day; the
protein drinks can count towards your fluid goal. Stay away from
the starches for a while ... they will cause you to dump too .
many people have different plans for eating after this surgery ...
and for as many different states in the union .. there are at least
20 opinions as to what and how and when we should be eating ....
On my second pre-op visit to the doc I was given a schedule
outlining the diet plan for the first 6 months post op ... 4
distinct phases of what i should have and what i shouldnt. I
researched a lot and chose this program because it seemed to me
to be the most sensible .... based on the food pyramid by stage 4
( the final stage) and on what your body needs to heal and to
maintain normal cellular metabolism in the first 3 stages. Most of
the people who follow this plan do not suffer from hair loss or
healing problems.
the most important thing is the protein .... you HAVE to have
protein .... or else you will be losing muscle mass as well as fat
as you lose weight. Before you put anything else extra into your
mouth make SURE you have your allotment of protein !!! look for
any protein supplements ... a lot of people here on OSSG swear by
Vitalady ... whey protein is usually easirer to digest at
first ... A good goal is 60 grams a day.
anyway .. good luck to you and keep coming back to this site ...
theres a lot of useful information here and we are all here to
help each other !
god bless
lucy
